Champions of the 30th Alabama State Senior Four-Ball & 6th State Super-Senior Four-Ball Crowned

MONTGOMERY, AL (October 13, 2024) – Final Round results from the 30th Alabama State Senior Four-Ball and State Super-Senior Four-Ball Championships hosted at Wynlakes Golf & Country Club in Montgomery, AL, October 11-13, 2024.

John Fisher of Opelika + Scott Johnston of Auburn went low today to claim the 30th Alabama State Senior Four-Ball title. The duo posted seven-under 65 for the Final Round and an overall tournament score of nineteen-under 197.

Chris Hummel of Birmingham + Sam Mango of Birmingham finished second with a three day total of eighteen-under 198. 

Jeff Taylor of Montgomery + Shaw Pritchett of Montgomery posted an overall tournament total of fourteen-under 202 to take third place. 

The team of Dana Amberson of Hartselle + Harry Kirkland of Decatur went back-to-back claiming the 6th Alabama State Super-Senior Four-Ball Championship title. Amberson + Kirkland fired an impressive tournament total of 21-under 195 and a Final Round seven-under 95 to secure the title for the second consecutive year. 

David Head of Sterrett + Randy Smith of Childersburg took home silver, carding an overall score of fifteen-under 201 for the tournament. 

Tom Davis of Hoover + Tom Jungkind of Hoover finished the tournament at thirteen-under 203 overall to claim bronze.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)

Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).

Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the SGA Board of Directors. AGA staff also administers day-to-day operations of the Elite Amateur Golf Series.
