This year marks the 30th playing of the Alabama State Senior Four-Ball Championship and the second time Wynlakes has hosted the State Senior Four-Ball Championship (2018 Joey Holley & Stan Sherlin). Shaw Pritchett and Jeff Taylor captured the team title in 2023 at Lakewood Golf Club. The Championship was first played in 1995 with Tom O’Melia and John Pryor winning the inaugural event at Cotton Creek Club.
This year marks the 6th playing of the Alabama State Super-Senior Four-Ball Championship and the first time Wynlakes has hosted the State Super-Senior Four-Ball Championship. Dana Amberson and Harry Kirkland captured the team title in 2023 at Lakewood Golf Club. The Championship was first played in 2019 with Tom Jungkind and John Coles winning the inaugural event at Huntsville Country Club.

Entries are open to sides of male amateur golfers who are legal residents of Alabama and have an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index® at an AGA member club. Maximum allowable combined team handicap is 14.9 under the USGA Handicap System™. Two players who play as partners comprise a side. Partners are not required to be from the same club. Both members of the side must have reached their 50th birthday by October 11, 2024.
Senior Championship Division Yardage: 6580 yards (36-36-72)
Course & Slope Rating: 71.8/135
Format:
- 54 holes of gross four-ball stroke play.
- The field will be cut to the low 20 sides and ties after 36 holes.
- The lowest score for 54 holes will be the Champion.
- In the event of a tie for first place in the Championship, a hole-by-hole play-off will be held immediately following play. The play-off holes and their order of play will be determined by the Committee.
- Initial groupings will be for two days; the field will be cut and re-paired by score after the second round.

All Day: Practice rounds.
9:00am-3:00pm: Player Registration on the patio in front of the golf shop.
Friday, October 11
Round 1: Morning tee times at 8:00 a.m. off of #1 & #10.
Saturday, October 12
Round 2: Morning tee times at 8:00 a.m. off of #1 & #10.
Field cut to low 20 sides and ties (Senior Division) and low 10 sides and ties (Super-Senior Division) for final round.
Field regrouped according to score.
Sunday, October 13
Final Round: Morning tee times off of #1 & #10 tees.
Awards ceremony immediately following play at scoreboard.
About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)
The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of 120 member clubs represented by over 30,000 individuals. The activities and services of the Alabama Golf Association are governed by a Board of Directors consisting of Alabama golfers who wish to serve the game and the association through service. A full-time professional staff of seven individuals handles day-to-day activities.

The AGA annually conducts 24 championships; team match competitions for men, women, junior and seniors; AHSAA high school golf championship and the SEC Men's Golf Championship. The AGA manages the Junior Golf Alabama program that is a joint venture between the AGA and Alabama-NW Florida PGA Section.
In addition to competitions, the AGA administers the AGA Scholarship Fund through the Alabama Golf Foundation that is dedicated to assisting young golfers in higher education. Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).
Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the SGA Board of Directors. AGA staff also administers day-to-day operations of the Elite Amateur Golf Series.
