Round Two Leader of the 36th Alabama State Mid-Amateur Championship: Ben Reeves of Birmingham 
TUSCALOOSA, AL (September 14, 2024) –Round Two Results of the Alabama Golf Association’s 36th Alabama State Mid-Amateur Championship hosted by Indian Hills Country Club in Tuscaloosa, AL, September 13-15, 2024.

Ben Reeves of Birmingham stands atop the leaderboard posting a second round score of four-under 67. He fired three birdies and an eagle today to finish round two with an overall score of seven-under 135.  

Haymes Snedeker of Point Clear and Hunter Hawkins of Fort Payne sit T2, each posting overall scores of five-under 137.

The field was cut to low sixty and ties. The cutline fell at 10-over with 60 players advancing to the final round of the 36th Alabama State Mid-Amateur Championship.


The third and final round of the 36th Alabama State Mid-Amateur Championship will begin tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. off #1 and #10 tees.

The 36th Alabama State Mid-Amateur Championship is conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.  

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)  
The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of 120 member clubs represented by over 28,000 individuals. In addition to competitions, the AGA administers the AGA Scholarship Fund through the Alabama Golf Foundation that is dedicated to assisting young golfers in higher education. Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).

Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the SGA Board of Directors. AGA staff also administers day-to-day operations of the Elite Amateur Golf Series.
