ALEXANDER CITY, AL (Aug. 24, 2024) – Round Two results of the 6th Southeast Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship hosted by Willow Point Golf & Country Club in Alexander City, Alabama on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024 (Mid-Amateur Division: 7199 yards; Senior Division: 6697 yards; Par 36-36—72).

Mid-Amateur Division:
 
The side of Clay Guerin of Hoover, AL and Matt Barnes of Hoover, AL posted a two-day total of 15-under 129 to take the solo lead heading into the Final Round tomorrow. 

The sides of Elliott Jones of Tuscaloosa, AL and Will Morrison of Tuscaloosa, AL and the side of Alex Balog of Elmore, AL and Blair Hamm of Helena, AL sit one-shot back at 14-under 130. 
 
The following sides stand T4, posting an 13-under 131:
●  Brinson Holder of Point Clear, AL and Nick Robillard of Birmingham, AL
●  Alan Coshatt of Birmingham, AL and Dalton Melnyk of Atlanta, GA

The cut line fell at seven-under 137 with 20 sides advancing to the Final Round. Final Round tee times will begin at 7:30 a.m. off #1. 

Senior Division:  

The side of Chad Branton of Marietta, GA and James Davenport of Cartersville, GA secured the solo lead after round two, carding a 36-hole total of 11-under 133. They hold a one-shot lead over Jeff Taylor of Montgomery, AL and Shaw Pritchett of Montgomery, AL. 

The following sides stand T3, posting seven-under 137: 
  • Adam Jacobs of Pelham, AL and Chris Cook of Arab, AL 
  • Bill Hodges of of Smyrna, GA and Kevin Jordan of Inlet Beach, FL
The cut line fell at four-under 140 with 13 sides advancing to the Final Round. Final Round tee times will begin at 7:42 p.m. off #10.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)

Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).

Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the SGA Board of Directors. AGA staff also administers day-to-day operations of the Elite Amateur Golf Series.
