Round One Results of the 17th Alabama Women’s State Four-Ball & Women’s Senior State Four-Ball Championships

BIRMINGHAM, AL (July 24, 2024) – Round One results from the 17th Alabama Women’s State Four-Ball and Women’s State Senior Four-Ball Championships hosted at RTJ Oxmoor Valley (Ridge Course) in Birmingham, AL, July 24-25, 2024.

Evelyn Tankersley of Prattville and Julie Waldo of Montgomery lead the 17th Women’s State Four-Ball Championship finishing the day eight-under par 64. The duo sits two strokes under their nearest competition. 

Anna Christian Beeker of Springville and Molly Brown Davidson of Tuscaloosa sit in second after carding a score of six-under par 66. Gabriella Nicastro and Klare Jamison of Huntsville stand third with a score of five-under par 67. 

The 6th Alabama Women’s State Senior Four-Ball Championship leaders at the end of Round One are Lea Green of McCalla and Linda Jeffery of Prattville. The team shot a combined one-under par 71.

Leah Head of Opelika and Theresa Stratton of Birmingham stand second after posting a score of two-over par 74. Dina Murray of Hoover and Pia Todora of Chelsea sit third after carding a combined three-over par 75. 

The second and final round will begin tomorrow morning, Thursday July 25th at 8:00 a.m. with a shotgun start.

These Championships are conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.


About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)

AGA membership consists of 120 member clubs represented by over 28,000 individuals. In addition to competitions, the AGA administers the AGA Scholarship Fund through the Alabama Golf Foundation that is dedicated to assisting young golfers in higher education. Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).

Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the SGA Board of Directors. AGA staff also administers day-to-day operations of the Elite Amateur Golf Series.
