Champions Crowned at the 7th Alabama State Parent-Child Championship

BIRMINGHAM, AL (June 25, 2024) – The second day of results of the 7th Alabama State Parent-Child Championship hosted by Highland Park Golf Course in Birmingham on Wednesday,  June 26, 2024.

Day two of the 7th Alabama State Parent-Child Championship was conducted today at Highland Park Golf Course in Birmingham. Teams from across the state competed in three divisions and four flights in over 18 holes of modified alternate shot where both team members played from their designated tee, selected a ball and played alternate shot until the ball was holed.

The team of Jason Daniel + Merritt Daniel earned the Mixed Team Division Overall title posting three-under 67. 

In the Open Division, the team of Anders Forsbrand + Alexander Forsbrand fired the tournament record low round at 11-under 59 to claim the title in this division.

  • Father-Son 14 & Under A Flight: Tobin Ayers / Tristin Ayers | 62 (-8)
  • Father-Son 14 & Under B Flight: Patrick Fleming / Foster Fleming | 68 (-2)
  • Mixed Team Overall /A Flight: Jason Daniel / Merritt Daniel | 67 (-3)
  • Mixed Team B Flight: Tom Lamkin / Elise Lamkin | 68 (-2)
  • Open Division: Anders Forsbrand / Alexander Forsbrand | 59 (-11)

The 7th Alabama State Parent-Child Championship is conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA)  
The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of over 120 member clubs represented by over 27,000 individuals. Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
