FOLEY, AL (June 3, 2024) – Partial round one results of the 61st Alabama Girls State Junior Amateur and Round One results of the 1st Alabama Women’s State Mid-Amateur Championships held at GlenLakes Golf Club (Dunes/Vista) in Foley, AL on Monday, June 3, 2024.

Play was suspended due to severe weather at the 61st Alabama Girls State Junior Amateur Championship at 1:03 p.m., leaving 25 players to finish round one tomorrow.

Frances Brown of Mobile currently sits at the top of the leaderboard of the 61st Alabama Girls State Junior Amateur Championship at three-under par with one hole left to play. 

Klare Jamison of Huntsville stands one-stroke behind at two-under par with one hole left to play. 

The following players stand T3 at three-under 72:

  • Julie Waldo of Prattville
  • Christine Chang of Auburn 
  • Kiersten Riggins of Trussville


At the Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship, Michaela Morard of Huntsville leads round one, firing off a two-under par 70 for the day. Morard made four birdies during her round and sits three strokes ahead of the competition.

Ashley Sinclair-Curtis of Enterprise sits in second, carding a round one score of one-over par 73. 

Jesse Lawley of Hoover stands third with a score of five-over par 77. 

Round One of the 61st Alabama Girls State Junior Amateur will resume at 7:00 a.m. Upon the completion of round one, round two will begin at 8:00 a.m. off the #1 and #10 tees.

Round Two of the 1st Alabama Women’s State Mid-Amateur Championships will begin tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. off #1 tee.

In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).

Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the SGA Board of Directors. AGA staff also administers day-to-day operations of the Elite Amateur Golf Series.
