MONTGOMERY, AL (Aug. 17, 2022) – Final results of the 2022 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Qualifying hosted by Montgomery Country Club in Montgomery, AL, on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022 (5673 yards, par 35-35—70, Course/Slope Rating: 72.4/129).

One qualifying spot was available at this site. Two alternate positions were also available.
Four players competed to advance to the 35th U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship.
Lea Venable of Simpsonville, SC posted a six-over 76 to secure medalist honors and the first qualifying spot.
Theresa Mahlik of Madison, AL and Kristin Culpepper of Columbus, GA both carded a ten-over 80 for the day. After one playoff hole, Mahlik earned the 1st Alternate Position and Culpepper earned the 2nd Alternate Position.
The cut line fell at six-over 76 with one player advancing to the 2022 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship at Fiddlesticks Country Club (Long Mean Course), in Fort Myers, FL, on Sept.17-22, 2022.

The 2022 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Qualifying is conducted by the Alabama Golf Association.

The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of over 115 member clubs represented by over 24,000 individuals. Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the Board of Directors of the Southern Golf Association.
