JASPER, AL – (Aug. 5, 2022) Round Two of Stroke Play qualifying results of the 21st Alabama State Match Play and 2nd Alabama State Senior Match Play Championships hosted by Musgrove Country Club in Jasper, Alabama, on Aug. 5, 2022.

Alex Balog of Elmore and Ross Napier of Hartselle earned medalist honors at the 21st Alabama State Match Play Championship. Elmore and Napier each fired an overall eight-under 134 for the stroke play qualifying rounds to lead the Championship into match play.
Jack Goldasich of Birmingham and George Burch of Theodore Auburn both finished T3, posting a six-under 136 for the stroke play qualifying rounds. Trace Bracknell of Tuscaloosa carded a five-under 137 to stand fifth.
Harrison Scott of Homewood and Richard Douglas of Birmingham went into a sudden-death playoff to compete for the final position in tomorrow’s match play (Round of 16 and Quarterfinals). Scott won the playoff after eight holes to claim the final seat.
Claud Cooper of Birmingham earned medalist honors at the 2nd Alabama State Senior Match Play Championship. Cooper carded a four-under 138 for the stroke play qualifying rounds to stand first seed for match play.
Steven Hudson of Birmingham finished two strokes behind Cooper, posting a two-under 140 total for the stroke play qualifying rounds. Patrick Drummond of Birmingham and Keith Crumpton of Trussville each fired an even-par 142 for the stroke play qualifying rounds to finish T3.
Match play (Round of 16 and Quarterfinals) for 21st Alabama State Match Play and 2nd Alabama State Senior Match Play Championships will begin on Saturday, Aug. 6, at 7:30 a.m. off #1 and #10.
