Guerin and Salter Victorious at the 40th Alabama State Four-Ball Championship


DECATUR, AL (May 1, 2022) – Semifinal and Final match play results of the 40th Alabama State Four-Ball Championship of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by Burningtree Country Club in Decatur, AL on Sunday, May 1, 2022. (7032 yards, 73.2/135).

Clay Guerin of Hoover and James Salter of Auburn defeated Hayden Carner of Fairhope and Tanner Guthrie of Auburn in 19 holes to claim the 40th Alabama State Four-Ball title. Guerin birdied the first extra hole to clinch the victory.

In the morning Semifinals, Guerin and Salter defeated Brinson Holder of Point Clear and Hunter Hawkins of Fort Payne also in 19 holes.

Carner and Guthrie won their Semifinals match 2 & 1 over Matt Gourgeot of Decatur and Stewart Whitt of Athens.
