Audrey Ferguson, Manager of Media, Marketing and Communications
Hoover, AL (June 3, 2020) – The Alabama Golf Association (AGA) is pleased to announce the hiring of Audrey Ferguson as the Manager of Media, Marketing and Communications. Ferguson, an Evansville, Indiana native, will lead communication efforts of the AGA and Southern Golf Association. She will also develop and execute marketing plans for both associations, while overseeing media coverage at tournaments and events.
Ferguson gained golf communications experience working with the AGA in the summer of 2019, as a USGA P.J. Boatwright Intern in tournament media and communications. Most recently, her experience interning with Lewis Communications has aided her knowledge in account services. She has also had the privilege of working event media at the CMA Awards, serving the University of Alabama’s Student Life as UREC’s marketing program assistant and leading The University of Alabama’s Alpha Chi Omega public relations and marketing.
“From my first day with the AGA, we set an organizational goal to increase focus on our marketing efforts, media exposure and communication channels,“ stated Andy Priest, AGA Executive Director. “After spending last summer with Audrey, we knew she had the qualities, talent, enthusiasm and education to improve our existing assets while identifying new opportunities in the future. She is a great fit to join our talented professional staff and I’m thrilled she will play a key role in growing exposure for both the AGA and SGA.”
“I am absolutely honored to step into this role within the AGA,” said Ferguson. “I’m eager to promote the game of golf in Alabama, while wholeheartedly serving the golf community altogether.”
In May of 2020, Ferguson graduated from The University of Alabama with a degree in Public Relations and Communications. As a former USGA P.J. Boatwright Intern, she was able to increase social media following, further engagement and interaction and implement new marketing concepts for tournaments and events.
Ferguson began her position with the AGA on May 18, 2020.
