Morard and O'Berry booked their tickets to the 70th U.S. Girls Junior Championship
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Final results from U.S. Girls Junior Championship Sectional Qualifying hosted by Montgomery Country Club in Montgomery, Ala.Thursday, June 28, 2018 (5912 yards, par 35-35—70, Course/Slope Rating: 73.9/134).
Two qualifying spots and two alternate positions were available at this qualifying site.
Michaela Morard of Huntsville and Mychael O’Berry of Hoover tied for medalist honors with scores of even-par 70. Morard’s round included three birdies while O’Berry had two. They both secured their places in the 70th U.S. Girls Junior Championship.
The two alternate spots were decided in a playoff after Caroline Waldrop of Birmingham and Mary Mac Trammell of Mountain Brook tied for third place with rounds of two-over par 72. The sudden death playoff went to one hole with Waldrop winning alternate. Trammell earned second alternate.
The 70th U.S. Girls Junior Championship will take place at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Pebble Beach, Calif. on July 16-21, 2018.
