Weaver and Jones take Medalists Honors at Alabama State Four-Ball
TUSCALOOSA, AL – Second round stroke play qualifying results of the 36th Alabama State Four-Ball Championship hosted by Indian Hills Country Club in Tuscaloosa, AL on Friday, April 27, 2018 (6544 yards, par 35-36—71, 71.5/128).
After two rounds of stroke play, Indian Hills members and round one leaders Phillip Weaver Jr and Elliott Jones managed to post a 36-hole total of 15-under par 127 to take medalist honors. Weaver and Jones will go into the match play portion of the championship as the number 1 seed.
Warmer conditions certainly affected scoring with the average score in round two being 1.8 shots lower than round one at 68.9.
After 36-holes of four-ball stroke play the field was cut to the low 16 teams for match play. The cut line fell at six-under par 136 with 16 teams advancing to match play after a playoff of five teams for four spots.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA) The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of over 130 member clubs represented by nearly 18,500 individuals. The activities and services of the Alabama Golf Association are governed by a Board of Directors consisting of Alabama golfers who wish to serve the game and the association through service. AGA is the USGA's liaison for golf in Alabama conducting national championship qualifying, administering the USGA Handicap system including the GHIN Handicap service, course & slope rating and education.
