Harlan & Hunter both fire 67 to co-lead after Round 1
MONTGOMERY, AL – First round results of the 17st Alabama State Match Play Championship of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by Wynlakes Golf & Country Club in Montgomery, AL on Thursday, August 3, 2017 (6865 yards, par 36-36—72, 73.1/126).
Harlan Winn of Birmingham & Wesley Hunter of Mobile both shot a five-under 67 to share a one-shot lead at Wynlakes Golf & Country Club.
Defending Champion Bo Hayes of Southside shot a 69 (-3) and 2017 Alabama State Amateur Champion Taylor Eyster of Birmingham shot a first round 68 (-4).
18 players are under par through the first 18 holes with the field average score of 75.5. The low 16 scores after 36 holes of stroke play will advance to match play.
Alabama State Match Play Championship is open to any male amateur golfer who is a legal resident of Alabama, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Alabama Golf Association (AGA) and has an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index® at an AGA member club that does not exceed 8.4.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA) The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of over 130 member clubs represented by nearly 18,500 individuals. The activities and services of the Alabama Golf Association are governed by a Board of Directors consisting of Alabama golfers who wish to serve the game and the association through service.
