Killen, AL – Final results from U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship Sectional Qualifying hosted by Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club in Killen, AL on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 (5836 yards, par 36-36—72, Course/Slope Rating: 73.7/127).
Two qualifying spots and two alternate positions were available at this qualifying site.
Lynda Wimberly of Nashville, TN posted an 18-hole score of one-over 73 for medalist honors. Martha Lang of Birmingham, AL shot a five-over 77 to claim the second qualifying spot. Susan West of Tuscaloosa, AL is the first alternate and Karen Rader-Carson of Kingston Springs, TN is the second alternate. Lea Green declined an alternate position.
Wimberly and Lang advance to the U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship that will be played at Waverly Country Club in Portland, Ore. on September 9-14, 2017.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA) The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of over 130 member clubs represented by nearly 18,500 individuals.
