Berger and Maddaloni shot 1st Round 71
FOLEY, AL - First round results of the 10th Alabama Women’s State Four-Ball Championship of the Alabama Golf Association hosted by GlenLakes Golf Club (Vista/Dunes) in Foley, AL on Thursday, June 28, 2016 (Championship Division: 5902 yards, par 36-36—72, 70.8/118; Tournament Division: 5575 yards, par 36-36—72, 70.1/116; Senior Division: 4255 yards, par 36-36—72, 64.5/110.)
Alexis Berger of Alabaster and Ashton Maddaloni from Eclectic shot a first round score of 71 (-1) to take a two shot lead in the Championship Division. Layne Dyar of Anniston and Chloe Borders of Jacksonville are two strokes off of the lead after shooting a first round score of 73 (+1).
Linda Jeffery of Prattville and Lea Green of McCalla fired a score of five under par (67) to lead the Tournament Division by six strokes. In the Senior Division, Amanda Miller of Albertville and Chere Dulaney of Albertville shot a first round 71 (-1) to share a lead with Barbee Bryant of Birmingham and Pia Todora of Hoover.
Championship is conducted at 36 holes of gross four-ball stroke play. There are three divisions: Championship, Tournament, and Senior. Tournament and Senior Divisions will be flighted after 18 holes based on score. An on-course hole by hole play-off will be used to break a tie for the championship.

About the Alabama Golf Association (AGA) The Alabama Golf Association is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization founded in 1915 whose mission is to serve and promote amateur golf in Alabama. AGA membership consists of over 130 member clubs represented by nearly 18,500 individuals. The activities and services of the Alabama Golf Association are governed by a Board of Directors consisting of Alabama golfers who wish to serve the game and the association through service. AGA is the USGA's liaison for golf in Alabama conducting national championship qualifying, administering the USGA Handicap system including the GHIN Handicap service, course & slope rating and education.
