BIRMINGHAM, AL (November 14, 2016) – The Alabama Golf Association (AGA) was presented with the Gold Tee Award for “Best Tournament Operations – Small Association” category at the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA) awards dinner on November 8 at the Omni Amelia Island Resort in Florida. This is the first Gold Tee Award for the association.
The Gold Tee Awards are presented annually in five categories honoring small and large golf association achievements in Tournament Operations, Membership/Club/Community Development and Outreach Programs, Education and Player Development, Communications/Marketing/Public Relations/Branding and Alternative Revenue Streams/Corporate Partnerships.
“This is a great and humbling honor to win this award,” stated AGA executive director Andy Priest. “It’s especially meaningful when the selection committee is comprised of your peers and industry leaders that understand the work that golf associations undertake on a daily basis. The AGA staff thanks our executive committee and board of directors with providing us with the support and tools necessary to raise the player experience at our events.”
Founded in 1968, the IAGA was created to enhance communication, share techniques and information relating to the game among the many golf associations in the United States and abroad.
