TP Country Club in Cullman
BIRMINGHAM, AL (July 18, 2016) – The Alabama Golf Association will conduct the 26TH Alabama Women’s State Stroke Play Championship at TP Country Club in Cullman, AL this week. A practice round will be held on Tuesday, July 19th and tournament play will take place July 20-22.
50 players are entered into this year’s championship including defending champion Elaine Wood of Spanish Fort. She won last year’s championship at Shoal Creek Country Club with a score of 218. Wood was victorious earlier this summer winning the Alabama Women’s State Amateur title (match play format) at Musgrove Country Club in Jasper.
Awards will be presented to the top three scores in the Championship Division after 54 holes, as well as the overall Champion. In addition, the Champion will have her name engraved on a permanent trophy housed at the AGA office.

Thursday, July 21: 18 holes
Friday, July 22: 18 holes with awards ceremony immediately following play at scoreboard.
