Hole-by-hole Scoring (starting 5/13)
BIRMINGHAM, AL (May 12, 2016) – The Alabama Golf Association will conduct the 19th Alabama State Senior Amateur Championship at Huntsville Country Club in Huntsville, AL from May 13-15.
123 players are entered into this year’s championship. David Hancock of Greenville won last year’s championship at Musgrove Country Club in Jasper, AL with a score of 208. Hancock is in this year’s field to defend his title.
2016 will be the first time that Huntsville Country Club has hosted the Alabama State Senior Amateur.
Awards will be presented to the low three 54 hole scores in the 50-56 and 57-64 age divisions as well as the overall Champion, and to the low three scores in the 65+ age division that plays a shorter course. In addition, the Champion will have his name engraved on a permanent trophy housed at the AGA office.

Format: Stroke play for 54 holes. Cut to low 60 scores and ties after 36 holes.
Eligibility: Any male amateur golfer, age 50+ as of May 13, 2016, who is a legal resident of Alabama, and has an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index® at an AGA member club of 10.4 (15.4 or less for players 65+).
Schedule of Rounds:
Friday, May 13: 18 holes
Saturday, May 14: 18 holes. Cut to low 60 scores and ties for final round.
Sunday, May 15: 18 holes with awards ceremony immediately following play at scoreboard.
