State Senior Four Ball Championship second round story

Clint Compton and Mike Lewis followed up their opening round 63 in the 21st State Senior Four Ball Championship at The Ledges of Huntsville Mountain with a 65 on Saturday to lead on 128, 14-under-par.

Compton of Albertville and Lewis of Guntersville had birdies on Nos. 1, 3, 5, 8, 9, 10, 15 and 18 against bogeys on holes 13 and 14. Doug Davis of Birmingham and Del Wood III of Vestavia Hills are in second, two back, after rounds of 64-66—130.

The championship will conclude Sunday and is 54 holes at stroke play. It is the final Alabama Golf Association championship of the season.
