ALEXANDER CITY, AL (Aug. 23, 2024) – Round One results of the 6th Southeast Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship hosted by Willow Point Golf & Country Club in Alexander City, Alabama on Friday, Aug. 23, 2024 (Mid-Amateur Division: 7199 yards; Senior Division: 6697 yards; Par 36-36—72).

The side of Elliott Jones of Tuscaloosa, AL and Will Morrison of Tuscaloosa, AL, and the side of Clay Guerin of Hoover, AL and Matt Barnes of Hoover, AL each posted opening round scores of six-under 66 to sit tied for the lead of the 6th Southeastern Mid-Amateur Four-Ball Championship.
They hold a one-stroke lead over the side of Alan Coshatt of Birmingham, AL and Dalton Melnyk of Atlanta, GA.
Three groups stand tied within the Senior Division, carding a six-under 66 for Round One:
● Adam Jacobs of Pelham, AL and Chris Cook of Arab, AL
● Jeff Taylor of Montgomery, AL and of Shaw Pritchett of Montgomery, AL
● Chad Branton of Marietta, GA and James Davenport of Cartersville, AL
The side of Bill Hodges of Smyrna, GA and Kevin Jordan of Inlet Beach, FL. stand fourth on the leaderboard with a five-under 67 for the day.
Round Two begins Saturday, Aug. 24th, 2024, at
7:30 a.m. off #1 and #10.

Additionally, the Alabama Golf Foundation supports the Youth on Course Alabama program providing facility access to junior golfers and provides funding for the Alabama Turfgrass Research Foundation. In 2016, the AGA earned the Gold Tee Award for “Outstanding Tournament Operations – Small Association” by the International Association of Golf Administrators (IAGA).
Since 1980, the AGA has managed the affairs of the Southern Golf Association which includes conducting the historic Southern Amateur Championship and Southern Junior Championship, in conjunction with the SGA Board of Directors. AGA staff also administers day-to-day operations of the Elite Amateur Golf Series.
